Absolutely. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning solutions that are safe for children and pets. Your family’s health and safety are as important to us as restoring the beauty of your rugs.

How long does professional rug cleaning take?

The entire process typically takes 5 to 7 business days, depending on the rug’s size, material, and condition. Delicate or heavily soiled rugs may require extra attention, while standard cleanings are often completed within a week. If repairs are needed, we’ll let you know the estimated timeline during the initial inspection.

How do I know if my rug needs cleaning?

There are a few signs that your rug needs a deep clean: it may smell musty, feel gritty to the touch, look faded or discolored, or you may notice an increase in allergies. If you rub a corner of the rug with a white cloth and it picks up dirt, that’s also a good indicator it’s time for a professional cleaning.

Can I clean my rug myself?

While light maintenance like vacuuming or spot cleaning is fine at home, deep cleaning is best left to professionals, especially for wool, silk, and antique rugs. Home equipment like carpet cleaners or steam machines can be too harsh, leading to shrinkage, dye bleeding, or damage to the fibers.

Is it safe to clean wool or antique rugs?

Yes, but it must be done carefully. Wool rugs require pH-balanced solutions and special handling. Antique or hand-knotted rugs need even more caution to avoid disturbing delicate fibers or fading their natural dyes. That’s why professional services use hand-washing techniques rather than machines.

Will rug cleaning remove allergens?

Absolutely. Dust mites, pet dander, and pollen can get trapped in rug fibers. A thorough professional cleaning removes these allergens, which helps reduce sneezing, coughing, and itchy eyes—especially helpful for those with allergies or asthma.

How often should I have my rug professionally cleaned?

It depends on usage. For high-traffic areas, professional cleaning every 6 to 12 months is recommended. Rugs in lower-traffic rooms may only need cleaning every 12 to 18 months. If you have pets, kids, or allergies, you might benefit from more frequent service.

Can you remove pet urine and odor from rugs?

Yes. Pet urine can seep deep into rug fibers and even into the padding below. We use enzymatic treatments that break down the odor-causing compounds and remove the bacteria, not just mask the smell. The sooner you treat a pet accident, the better the results.

What happens if my rug has moth damage?

Moth damage typically appears as bare patches or thinning areas, especially in wool rugs. If caught early, the rug can be treated to kill the larvae and repaired by reweaving or patching the affected areas. Regular cleaning discourages moths by removing the dust and dander they feed on.

Do you clean synthetic rugs, too?

Yes, we clean all types of rugs, including those made from synthetic fibers like polypropylene, nylon, and polyester. Synthetic rugs are generally more durable and stain-resistant, but still benefit from periodic deep cleaning to remove embedded dirt and grime.

Can rug cleaning restore the rug’s color?

In many cases, yes. Dirt, dust, and oils can make colors appear dull. Professional cleaning lifts away the buildup and can revive the original brightness of your rug, especially in high-traffic areas where footfall has flattened the fibers and dulled the color.

Is there a difference between carpet cleaning and rug cleaning?

Yes, there is a big difference. Carpet cleaning often involves portable machines used in your home, while rug cleaning is done off-site with specialized techniques and equipment tailored to each rug’s material and construction. Area rugs require more delicate care than wall-to-wall carpeting.

Will cleaning cause my rug to shrink?

Not when done properly. Shrinkage can happen with aggressive water use, hot temperatures, or fast drying, but professional rug cleaners control all of these factors to prevent warping or shrinking. Each rug is evaluated for risk and cleaned accordingly.

Can you clean rugs with heavy furniture stains or wear marks?

Yes, but results can vary based on the extent of damage. Furniture stains from rust or wood dyes may leave permanent marks, but deep cleaning can lighten or remove many of these blemishes. For worn areas or dents from furniture legs, grooming and steam can often lift the fibers back into place.

Is it okay to walk on a damp rug after cleaning?

It’s best to wait until your rug is fully dry before walking on it. Walking on a damp rug can flatten fibers, leave footprint marks, or transfer dirt back onto the clean surface. Most rugs dry completely within 24–48 hours under controlled conditions.

What’s the best way to store a rug long-term?

First, make sure your rug is clean and completely dry. Roll it (don’t fold), wrap it in breathable fabric or paper, and store it in a cool, dry location away from sunlight. Avoid using plastic, which traps moisture and can lead to mildew or discoloration.
